Diversity Committee

The FCM Diversity Committee has undertaken the following action items for its 2017-2018 departmental diversity report:

Action Item #1

Extend diversity outreach work to FCM clinical staff and develop a protocol for training clinical staff; pilot work with SFHN AND UCSF Medical Center employees working in FCM Practices


Action Item #2

Create comprehensive onboarding procedure packet for staff. Include basic orientation to diversity issues and opportunities in onboarding material


Action Item #3

Implement strategies to advance a culture of inclusion and diversity in current polarized political climate, including guidelines for using department communication channels (e.g., FCM group email addresses, web site, FCM Chatter) to communicate about advocacy activities.


Action Item #4

Refresh membership within the FCM Diversity Committee to even better reflect diversity within the university through various outreach methods, and develop a protocol for onboarding new members.


Action Item #5

Refine diversity committee communications strategy with FCM department membership and create better linkage to residency program diversity committee


Action Item #6

Work with Office of Diversity and Outreach to develop the Unconscious Bias/Allyship workshop into a follow up on for their Unconscious Bias work across the campus.


Action Item #7

Promote and “sponsor” activities for the “Differences Matter” initiative within the Department of FCM.
