Family Medicine Interest Group

The Family Medicine Interest Group provides information and resources that enable students to explore the field of family medicine.

The goals of the FMIG include:

  • Introducing students to primary care medicine in general and to family/community medicine in particular.
  • Giving students exposure to the wide range of professional options available to family medicine practitioners, including research, rural and urban practice, international medicine, working with the underserved, and many others.
  • Enabling students to meet faculty members, practicing family physicians, residents, and older students who can serve as role models and/or mentors throughout the educational process and beyond.
