Pat Mejia Recognized for Exceptional Service

The most impactful leaders don't seek the spotlight—they create opportunities for others to succeed. That's what makes Patricia Mejia's recognition with the Lloyd "Holly" Smith Award for Exceptional Service to UCSF School of Medicine so well deserved.

For nearly 20 years, Pat has been a valued member of our department, currently with the UCSF Center for Excellence in Primary Care and previously the Office of Developmental Primary Care, she has helped clinicians, students, care teams, and community partners build the skills, relationships, and confidence needed to improve health.

Pat is widely recognized for her exceptional talent as a trainer and curriculum designer, her ability to bring people together across diverse perspectives, and the empathy, humility, and grace she brings to every interaction. Throughout her career, she has consistently elevated those around her, strengthened collaboration, and advanced health equity.
