In this curriculum, we explore 1) how to implement the 10+3 Building Blocks of High Performing Primary Care into teaching clinics and 2) how to teach residents about primary care transformation. This approach allows residents to learn the language of primary care transformation while simultaneously learn to practice in transforming/transformed settings. We refer to this as the ‘Double Helix’ curriculum.
The Double Helix curriculum bridges what is learned in the education strand with what is practiced in the clinical strand through faculty development and resident quality improvement projects. Together, we intend for this Double Helix curriculum to create a coherent and comprehensive learning experience for residents and their teaching clinics. In this website, you will find resources to guide your implementation of this curriculum into your own program and/or clinic.
The Double Helix Curriculum provides residents, faculty, and teaching clinics with tools to lead practice transformation.
