About Our Track
UCSF Family and Community Medicine (FCM) has a highly successful, well-established residency program at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. We are now starting a new track begining in June 2026 with 6 residents per year at UCSF Lakeshore and the San Francisco VA.
Lakeshore is a full-spectrum, community-based, academic family medicine practice that serves a diverse mix of patients and insurance types. It has been a highly rated medical student teaching site for more than two decades.

All first-year resident positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). UCSF Family and Community Medicine Residency. Lakeshore/VA track accepts only those applications transmitted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We have six first-year resident openings this year. Please note that the application and interview process for this track is separate from the main UCSF FCM residency program at SFGH. Students interested in both the main residency at SFGH and this track will need to apply to each individually.
