Integrative Medicine Fellowship

Through integrative medicine, we honor the knowledge of our patients that comes from culture, community, and intuition.

The UCSF/SFGH Family and Community Integrative Medicine Fellowship is a teaching and learning fellowship to develop skills to practice holistic and integrative approaches to healing in a county health system. Curriculum and practice covers relationship-centered care emphasizing the value of:

  • Lifestyle medicine
  • Mind-body practice
  • Ritual and ceremony
  • Spiritual Care
  • Herb and supplement review
  • Community care
  • Nature prescription
  • and more where resonant and accessible for our patient population

 

Components

  • Integrative consult clinic
  • Residency precepting and integrative teaching
  • Possible clinical opportunities at UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine and the SFVA Wholistic Health Service
  • Opportunities for creative projects, advocacy, and group visits

 

Note

  • This fellowship usually involves program sponsoring for the University of Arizona Weil Integrative Medicine fellowship concurrently (though alternative training can be personalized) so that fellows can be board-eligible in integrative medicine
  • It is open to physicians board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine only.

 

Program Length: 1 year
